Our story

Domaine Botania was founded in 2019 as a family project led by Dominique and her daughter Rosalie, following their participation in the S’Entreprendre program offered by the Fondation Lise Watier. In its early days, the business took shape through small urban gardens in the Saint-Jérôme area and a cultivated plot within a permaculture orchard in Saint-Placide.

As interest in our herbal teas continued to grow, it quickly became clear that we needed more space to bring our vision to life. In May 2020, we established our farm in L’Ascension, in Quebec’s Upper Laurentians, to expand our production and pursue our goals. Since then, the farm has continuously evolved, transforming poor, sandy soil into a thriving ecosystem rich in biodiversity and diverse crops.

Today, we grow a wide variety of medicinal and aromatic plants, natural dye plants, heirloom vegetables, and a diverse northern orchard. Our approach combines various agricultural practices, including permaculture, agroforestry, and biodynamic farming, alongside the thoughtful and humane raising of a small number of animals, to create a sustainable balance between soil, plants, and animals.
