Our Commitment to
Eco-Responsibility

At Domaine Botania, eco-responsibility is not a trend, but a way of being. Every gesture, from field to cup, is guided by respect for the land, living ecosystems, and time. We believe it is possible to create exceptional products while reducing our impact and honouring sustainable craft.
A Vision of Responsible Agriculture and Entrepreneurship
We believe that agriculture and entrepreneurship should never be associated with practices that harm the environment. They should not contribute significantly to greenhouse gas emissions, pollute waterways, or take part in deforestation.
For millennia, humans have cultivated the land, transformed raw materials, crafted, and created. It is not agriculture itself that is problematic, but rather its large-scale industrialization. While this model has brought certain advancements, it has also generated major environmental impacts. Fortunately, many farmers and entrepreneurs continue to choose a non-industrial, small-scale approach with a lower environmental footprint. We are proud to be part of this movement.
Organic and Regenerative Agriculture
We practice organic agriculture, free from GMOs and synthetic pesticides, and promote crop diversity to counter the harmful effects of monoculture, particularly biodiversity loss.
Our methods are inspired by the principles of regenerative agriculture: no-till practices, perennial crops, the use of plant-based mulches, manure, and compost. These practices contribute to living, balanced, carbon-rich soils while actively supporting natural carbon sequestration.
Integrated Agricultural Practices and Resource Stewardship
Our practices integrate permaculture, agroforestry, silvopasture, biodynamic methods, and biological pest management. We do not use synthetic fertilizers, recognizing their significant impact on greenhouse gas emissions, both during their production and their application.
We also place great importance on integrated water management to preserve this essential resource and ensure its responsible use.
Protection of Biodiversity and a Living Agricultural Ecosystem
The protection of biodiversity lies at the heart of our approach. We cultivate a wide diversity of plants, establish food-bearing trees for wildlife, develop nourishing riparian buffer zones, and create safe passages for animals.
These actions help maintain a rich and diverse agricultural ecosystem, fostering harmonious coexistence between cultivated areas, wildlife, and natural habitats.
Local Sourcing and Support for the Local Economy
We prioritize thoughtful and local sourcing, collaborating with nearby partners who share our environmental and human values. This approach supports the regional economy while reducing the footprint associated with transporting raw materials and supplies.
When local sourcing is not possible, we favour suppliers committed to responsible and transparent practices aligned with our overall approach.
Zero Waste and Sustainable Packaging
Our packaging reflects our eco-responsible commitment in tangible ways. We use recyclable bags made in Canada, carefully selected to reduce our environmental footprint while ensuring the protection and quality of our products.
This choice is part of a continuous improvement approach aimed at limiting waste at the source and reducing the use of single-use materials. At the same time, we actively work to decrease the use of agricultural plastics by replacing them, whenever possible, with more durable alternatives, thereby supporting soil health and environmental preservation.
Education and Knowledge Sharing
We believe that the transition toward more sustainable practices also depends on knowledge sharing and raising awareness. Through our products, our communications, and our actions, we aim to foster a deeper understanding of plants, agriculture, and the ecosystems that sustain them.
By valuing agricultural know-how, practices that respect living systems, and the realities of our territory, we hope to encourage a more conscious and responsible relationship between consumers, the land, and food.
Respectful Coexistence with Wildlife
We adapt our agricultural practices to encourage harmonious coexistence with local wildlife. This includes protecting existing habitats, maintaining natural corridors, and establishing refuge areas that allow animals to move and feed without disrupting cultivated areas.
We believe that a healthy agricultural ecosystem is a living environment, where the presence of wildlife contributes to natural balance and the resilience of crops.
Renewable Energy and Responsible Energy Use
We integrate solutions designed to reduce our energy consumption and encourage the use of renewable energy whenever possible. This approach reflects an ongoing commitment to energy efficiency, both in the equipment we choose and in the way we organize our daily operations.
We favour simple, durable systems suited to our scale, with a focus on reducing energy demand at the source.
